GitHub Copilot adds Grok 4.6 with an enterprise admin gate

Gradual rollout

Commercial transition

Previous stateGrok 4.6 was not part of the governed GitHub Copilot model-entitlement corpus.
New stateGrok 4.6 is gradually available to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business and Enterprise, with provider-list usage billing; Business and Enterprise access remains behind an administrator-controlled policy that is off by default.

Who is affected

GitHub Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business and Enterprise users, and Business/Enterprise administrators controlling model availability.

Action required

Business and Enterprise administrators who intend to permit Grok 4.6 must review and enable the model policy; usage-based billing should be assessed against the current provider list pricing before broad enablement.

Evidence boundary

GitHub proves a gradual rollout, stated plan availability, provider-list usage billing and the Business/Enterprise policy gate. The announcement does not prove immediate universal availability to every account or that enterprise administrators have enabled the model.
