Cloudflare schedules Workers tracing event billing for October

Cloudflare says Workers tracing remains free during its initial beta and will be billed from 1 October 2026 as Workers Observability usage, with each trace span counted as one observability event.

Event billing scheduled

Commercial transition

Previous stateWorkers tracing was free during the initial beta period for collection, storage and dashboard viewing.
New stateFrom 1 October 2026, each enabled and sampled trace span counts as one Workers Observability event under the published plan quota and additional-event pricing model.

Who is affected

Cloudflare Workers teams that enable tracing and generate sampled spans on Free, Paid or Enterprise plans.

Action required

Review tracing enablement and sampling rates, estimate span volume against the applicable observability-event quota, and budget for additional events where the published plan model applies.

Evidence boundary

Cloudflare proves span-based observability-event billing for enabled tracing. It does not establish a general Workers base-plan price increase or charges for requests that are not traced.
