AWS reduces GPU management fees for EKS Auto Mode and ECS Managed Instances

Effective 1 July 2026, AWS reduced G-series management fees by 35% and P-series and AWS Trainium management fees by 60% for both EKS Auto Mode and ECS Managed Instances; AWS announced the changes on 7 July 2026.

Who is affected

AWS customers running G-series, P-series or AWS Trainium accelerated instances with EKS Auto Mode or ECS Managed Instances.

Action required

No configuration action is required for the reduction. Update GPU workload cost forecasts and budgets to reflect the lower management fees while continuing to account separately for EC2, accelerator, data-transfer and other AWS charges.

Evidence boundary

The change reduces the named EKS Auto Mode and ECS Managed Instances management fees for the affected accelerated instance families; it does not reduce the underlying EC2, accelerator, data-transfer or other AWS service charges.
